3 Affordable Ways To Freshen Up Your Kitchen This Summer

Hello Friends! Warm weather has finally arrived and it feels like Summer is already here. Literally it was 90 degrees today and felts so good. I currently live in an apartment so I don't like to invest a lot of money into decor because ultimately, I want to buy a home in the next few years.
That being said, I still want my space to look nice and feel like home. I know Summer is still a few weeks away but I wanted to share with you some affordable ways I'm freshening up my kitchen this season.
Fresh Citrus Everywhere -
Every time the summer weather makes it's way to Ohio I go a little citrus crazy. My kids and husband absolutely LOVE oranges so we keep them in the fridge year round, however during the warmer months I buy some extra oranges and lemons to keep on the kitchen counter. It adds a ton of color to my otherwise neutral kitchen. This whole bag of oranges cost me less than $5 and won't go to waste. I store my lemons in this serving bowl that I found for under $18. It's one of my favorite home purchases in a long time.

Eucalyptus -
I truly believe that fresh eucalyptus is sent from the heavens. It smells so good and I love the way it looks. Trader Joes, and pretty much every grocery store, has fresh eucalyptus for a couple bucks. That being said, I also am no stranger to faux plants. I found this glass vase for under $15 and stuffed it with these faux ecaulyptus stems. I loved the way it turned out so much that I purchased another vase to put this same set up in my master bathroom.
Dress Up Your Sink -
Every time the season changes one of my favorite little ways to decorate is with hand soap. I love to find really unique soap bottles at Homegoods and they are usually on $4. For this summer season, I am using this J.R. Watkins Lemon Scented soap and it smells so good. I also love to switch out the hand towels I have hanging on my dishwasher out for something a bit more seasonally appropriate like these super cute citrus ones I picked up the other day.
I love how these few changes make a huge difference and create a fun new energy in my space. If you try any of these be sure to share a picture because I would love to see! xx
